Yes. Behavioral health services are a core part of every Curative plan, which means Curative insurance mental health coverage extends to therapy, psychiatric care, and structured outpatient treatment for both mental disorders and substance use disorders. 

Coverage for each level of care is determined by medical necessity, meaning your symptoms and clinical needs must support the treatment being recommended. Our team completes that clinical assessment during admission and handles the documentation Curative requires, so the process stays simple on your end.

Understanding Curative Insurance

Curative is an employer-sponsored PPO health plan, and Georgia is the third state where it operates, following Texas and Florida. 

The plan’s defining feature is its cost structure. Members who complete a Baseline Visit within the first 120 days of their plan pay nothing out of pocket for in-network care. That means no copays, no deductible, and no coinsurance for covered, in-network services.

The Baseline Visit is a preventive health appointment with the Curative medical team that doubles as plan onboarding. Members are also paired with a Care Navigator who helps them use their benefits.

If you completed your Baseline Visit, your Curative plan may cover in-network treatment in full. If you missed the window, coverage continues with a standard deductible under your plan terms. Either way, our admissions team confirms your exact situation before you commit to anything.

We offer three levels of outpatient care, each designed to fit around your life:

• Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): Our PHP is the highest level of structured outpatient care, with full days of clinical programming while you return home each evening
• Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Our IOP provides several sessions per week, leaving room for work, school, and family responsibilities
• Outpatient Program (OP): Our outpatient level offers ongoing support and accountability as you step down in care

Clients travel to us from Roswell, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs, Marietta, and communities across metro Atlanta. Telehealth options can supplement in-person care when scheduling calls for it.

Prior Authorization and How Long Curative Approves Treatment

Structured programs like PHP and IOP typically require prior authorization from Curative before treatment begins. This is a standard utilization review process, and our team manages it from start to finish. We submit your clinical assessment, secure the initial authorization, and keep Curative updated on your progress through concurrent reviews.

Authorizations come in blocks of days rather than one open-ended approval. As each block nears its end, we submit updated clinical documentation to extend your care. Treatment continues as long as it remains medically necessary, and you will never be left guessing where your authorization stands.

What Curative Insurance Will Not Cover

Every plan has limits, and knowing them upfront protects you from surprises. Curative will decline coverage for services that fall outside medical necessity, and treatment that skips a required prior authorization can be denied even when it would otherwise qualify. 

The $0 cost structure has one condition attached. Members who missed their Baseline Visit window carry a standard deductible instead. Out-of-network care remains covered under PPO terms but comes with real out-of-pocket costs that in-network care avoids.
